On the first Sunday of every month bring your recyclable cans, bottles and cell phones to the church. We can redeem them for cash. We also collect canned food for distribution to the needy. Get your cans to church.Amazon.com
September 1-30 Give Aloha at Foodland and Sack & Save
St. Nick’s is again participating in GIVE ALOHA , Foodland’s Annual Community Matching Gifts Program which runs from September 1 through September 30. This program honors Foodland founder Maurice J. “Sully” Sullivan and continues his legacy of giving back to the community.
How does it work? At the checkout station present your Maika’i Card and inform the cashier that you would like to make a donation to our organization. You must have a Maika’i card to participate. Your donation, up to $249, will be matched by a certain percentage of the total donations received for all organizations. In past years this has amounted to an additional 25-28% of the donations made on behalf of St. Nick’s. The amount you donated to us and the name of our organization will appear on your receipt. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO MAKE ANY OTHER PURCHASE. Donor names will not be released to St. Nicholas, so if you need a record of your gift, please put a copy of your receipt in the collection plate on Sunday. Make sure you have your name on the receipt! Your gift will be included in your end of year report from the treasurer, so you will have evidence of your donation.
Your generous support now will help us considerably as we plan ministries for 2011. Mahalo and God Bless!
Donate your used car, motorcycle, boat or jet ski to St. Nicholas through Kokua in Kind. You don't have to go through the hassle of selling your old vehicle. They will take care of everything. Kokua in Kind donates the profit to St. Nicholas and you get a write off on your taxes. They even take cars from other islands. Go to their website for more information. Look for St. Nicholas on the list of charities.
